The Brotherhood of Wicked Witches

The Brotherhood of Wicked Witches

Casting spells used to be known as prompting. the tech bros knew what runes to cast to get their familiars to take the right action (bring down that economy, trash that airlines, invade ruritania etc). over time, it suited them to dress up in ever more elaborate regalia, and engage in more baroque ceremonies, often burning incense,  futile gestures, and bloodthirsty sacrifices.

Some commentators wondered if the machinery was real, or just things were just as in the time of Quetzalcoatl, or Cassandra, the God of Wisdom and Learning, especially as the outcome of the spells were so unpredictble, or perhaps just implausible.

Or perhaps we were still in those times, and the past millenia were just a dream.

Certainly, when asked to explain their spells, neither the Wicked Witch of the West nor the Wicked Witch of the East were able to give a clear chain of thought behind Qwen or Llama's reasoning.

Legend had it that there was a strawman plan to equip the Bros with a brain of their own, but sadly this fell foul of their desire to have the lion's share of worshippers, and appeals fell on tin ears.

In the end the only hop was that dot and tot would find a third way, Clicking together their Ruby-on-Rails, the doge and her mistress would explain everything in clear and certain terms, and the Wicked Witches would melt away, for no other reason if not for the lack of A/C in their palaces.

The wizard was unavailable for comment, being hidden behind the arras.
